Dogs, Adult

Vaccinations are the number one way you can protect your beloved pet from serious infectious diseases. Not every pet requires the same series or frequency of vaccines, and it is important to discuss an appropriate vaccine protocol for your pet based on his or her breed, age, lifestyle and recommendations from the American Animal Hospital Association.

Your pet's vaccine schedule will be balanced to provide needed protection while not over-vaccinating. Please contact us for more information about our customized vaccination protocols and why they are best for your pet.

Here are the basic guidelines recommended as a starting point for our protocols:

Adult Canine Vaccines (1yr-6yr):
Physical Examination
DA2PP, Rabies Vaccine (every 3yrs)
Lepto, Bordetella, Occult Heartworm Test, Fecal Exam (Annually)
Flea/Heartworm Prevention Refill
*if your pup is frequently around other dogs (dog parks, boarding/day care, groomer, etc), they should be boostered with the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine every 6 months

Advances in veterinary medicine have made it possible for pets to live longer than ever. By taking the time to learn more about the special needs of your senior-aged pet, you will be providing the best care for your friend in its golden years.

When dogs reach 7 years old (5 years old for giant breeds), they are considered seniors. Pets in their senior years begin to go through a gradual reduction of their physical capabilities. Twice yearly wellness examinations are recommended at this point in their life to help catch any health conditions as early as possible, thereby offering your beloved pet an extended period of vitality and good health. During senior exams, we will assess preventive care needs based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and risk factors.
Blood testing, including a chemistry panel and complete blood count, is recommended for all senior pets. It is the easiest and quickest method to assess your pet's internal health and develop an important baseline that will help us diagnose future problems. Early detection of common geriatric conditions is the best way to prolong life by allowing us to provide proper treatment and monitoring.
